Butoh Movement Sessions
During the Wolf retreat, Maya Victorine will lead the group in eco-resonance movement classes outside.  We will develop a core practice of “sensitivity", “momentum”, and “not moving till moved”.  We will use breathwork and qi gong to initiate inner movement and an intimate connection with the nature around us.  With these skills in tow, we can then start to create dance that brings forth our own perspective from within nature.  We will get the experience of resonating with the wolves and finding our own wild dance from within.  Also during the retreat, a shamanic drum journey will further connect you to the magic of the animal spirits.

Artists’ Bio- Maya Victorine
Maya Victorine has traveled the world, seeking the practice of Butoh Dance. Learning from many different butoh masters, such as Rhizome Lee and Atsushi Takenuchi, local teachers on the west coast, and also living in butoh communities.  The butoh practice helps one develop increased awareness of one’s self and body, your surroundings, and the natural environment, and turns the “listening” into a dance expression.  Maya has continually focused on “eco-resonance”, creating an unbiased ear and authentically relating to nature as “really, really, real”.  Maya leads exercises for hyperawareness, and channels guided meditations that push forward the imagination and our listening skills.  Maya is also a massage therapist, spoken word artist, photographer, breathwork teacher and core shamanism practitioner.
